Ashley Tisdale - Where she came from

If you had to pick someone to play the role of a candy counter girl in a hotel, would you not pick someone with a pretty, wholesome, girl-next-door type of face?  That’s why Ashley Michelle Tisdale was selected specifically to play the role of Maddie, a candy counter girl working at the Tipton Hotel in Disney’s situation comedy “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody”.

Tisdale was born only July 2, 1985 and is an American actress. Her older sister, Jennifer, is also an actress.  Her parents are Lisa Morris and Mike Tisdale, who are related to business tycoons Nathan Morris and Arnold Morris.  When she was 12, Ashley Tisdale sang at the White House.  She was discovered in Monmouth County, New Jersey where she was born.

Tisdale’s acting career began in the late 1990s.  She appeared in episodes of the following television series: “Smart Guy”, “7th Heaven”, “Grounded for Life”, “Boston Public”, “Strong Medicine” and “Beverly Hills, 90210”.  She landed a minor role in the film, “Donnie Darko” (2001), and had recurring guest appearances in the series “The Hughleys” and “Still Standing”.

Ashley Tisdale’s career takes off
When Tisdale auditioned for “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody”, she read the scripts for both Maddie Fitzpatrick and London, but was finally cast as Maddie. She was pleased about getting the part of Maddie because she portrays a positive character, compared to London. When the series became successful, Tisdale was invited to perform on the Disney Channel, and made several promotions, specials, and ads for the network.

Her most recent role was in the Disney Channel “Original Movie High School Musical” where she sang songs like "What I’ve Been Looking For", "Bop to the Top" and "We’re All in this Together".

Tisdale is a good friend of co-stars Brenda Song, Zac Efron, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Alyson and Amanda Michalka, Ricky Ullman, Amy Bruckner, Kaley Cuoco, Haylie Duff, Dylan Sprouse, and Cole Sprouse.

Relatively new in the film industry, Tisdale’s credits already include “Smart Guy” (1997), “7th Heaven” (1997), “The Amanda Show” (2000), “Number One Fan”, “Beverly Hills 90210” (2000), etc
